During the week of February 11-15 our Iowa State University Belt Yourself! team visited three schools in the Des Moines area; Weeks, Meredith, and Hiatt middle schools. Our goal was to educate your "tweens" (children ages 11-14) on the importance of wearing their seatbelt every time they ride in a vehicle. Your tweens played a wheel of fortune game based on seat belt safety facts and were given a goody bag with some fun stuff along with some safety information. Ask your tweens all about it!
Our team will also be hosting an event at Bob Brown Chevrolet on Merle Hay Road on Saturday, February 16 from noon until 3:00 pm. Bring your tween and let them show you what they learned at school.
Also, post a comment on this blog and let us know what your tween told you or what you think about our campaign.
